Cantata platform is now being used in 12 countries, supporting 2 trials simultaneously.
Cantata, Protas’ novel clinical trial management platform, is now available for use in 12 countries, with China being the latest region to leverage the system.
As part of Protas’ ongoing support for the EASi-KIDNEY™ trial, the world’s largest trial into chronic kidney disease, the platform is being translated into more and more countries to enable the trial’s global roll-out.
This July, EASi-KIDNEY™ randomised its 1,000th participant. It’s expected to involve 11,000 participants across 400 sites in 15 countries.
For Cantata, this means the platform is now in use globally, across 250 trial sites, with over 1,000 trial staff using the system.
Meanwhile, Cantata is also being used to deliver a separate trial in high blood pressure, meaning the platform is now supporting two trials simultaneously, one of the key benefits of the novel platform.
This is a major achievement for Cantata, which Protas built over the past two years and formally launched in January 2025.
Protas built Cantata to transform an industry hampered by outdated information technology (IT). Instead, Cantata is built on the principles of integration, security and user experience.
Covering the full range of logistical, oversight and quality assurance needs, Cantata allows large trials to be managed safely and seamlessly, which improves the quality of results, while reducing costs.
Ultimately, it increases the likelihood of trials that use the platform to yield reliable, informative results that can make a difference to clinical decision making.
