Dr Annalisa Jenkins brings over 25 years of life sciences experience to Protas.
Dr Annalisa Jenkins has joined Protas’ Board of Directors, bringing with her vast experience across the public, private and charitable sectors.
A life sciences thought leader, Annalisa has spent over 25 years building and financing companies pursuing cures for the most challenging diseases globally.
Her previous and current portfolio includes Merck Serono, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Genomics England, British Heart Foundation, The King’s Fund, Cancer Research UK and Dimension Therapeutics, a leading gene therapy company she took public on the Nasdaq and subsequently sold to Ultragenyx.
She has consistently mentored leadership teams advancing programs from basic research through clinical development, regulatory approval, and into global healthcare systems.
She also holds board positions for several life sciences companies, as well as contributing publicly on leadership with purpose, social entrepreneurship, diversity and innovation.

Annalisa said: “My desire is to support teams that are driven by purpose and innovation, and Protas is leading the charge in transforming clinical trials for the benefit of patients and health systems worldwide.

Annalisa graduated in Medicine at the University of London and received her Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of London. She trained in cardiovascular medicine and was a Research Fellow at Imperial College London.
Earlier in her career, she was a Medical Officer in the British Royal Navy during the Gulf War, achieving the rank of Surgeon Lieutenant Commander.
