Video: New ICH good clinical practice guideline
“Good trials are a key component of a good healthcare system.”
This week, Protas CEO Prof Sir Martin Landray joined the Good Clinical Trials Collaborative and The Global Health Network for a webinar exploring ICH’s new guideline for good clinical practice (GCP).
Attended by over 1,200 people, the webinar focused in on why the new guidance is needed and what it means for good clinical trials.
“Clinical trials are absolutely essential if we want to make appropriate decisions about the benefits and harms of any clinical intervention: a drug, a device, a vaccine, a surgical procedure, or anything else,” comments Sir Martin.
“Decisions that are made in the absence of reliable evidence may harm individual patients or harm public health.”
“We need evidence. We need reliable evidence if we’re going to practice good medicine. Good trials are a key component of a good healthcare system.”

The webinar follows several milestones achieved by Protas and the Good Clinical Trial Collaborative in transforming clinical trial practice.
This includes the Good Clinical Trial Collaborative’s principles being incorporated into the World Health Organization’s (WHO) “Guidance for best practices for clinical trials”, which was launched last autumn.
